File Campaign Finance Report & Wet Ink Signature by Today

ElectaFile Short Summary: Today is the Day! End of Year Semi Annual Reports are due today on Friday, January 26, 2024. This means the report and the wet ink signature. Electronically filing timely reports has two steps explained by applicable law and history. If you don’t do both steps, you face up to $500 fines and sometimes up to $10K fines for statewide committees.

If you file your report timely today with wet ink signature postmarked today, you are GOOD TO GO!

If you miss today, your fines accrue at $50 for every calendar day up to $500.00

If you’re a statewide committee, your fines accrue at $250 for every calendar day up to $10,000.00.

Here’s the catch: there’s usually a lag from when the deadline occurs to when you get a written, emailed notice from the State Board. Sometimes, the fine has already maxed about before you figure out the “meter is running…” Sometimes you get word of tardiness or failure to file on a slow boat…

$500 fines kill small committees. $10,000 fines sting for any committee.

They stack up fast. Call your folks. Make sure all of the committees you’re associated with today are compliant today.
