A lull in the action...

ElectaFile Short Summary: With lull in action, we have some recommendations to make campaign finance work easier…
Good Monday morning, campaign finance fans!
Think about these suggestions and let’s get ahead of things…
Kick the Tires on Your Campaign Bank Account. We encourage all of you to push pause on your work to determine if your campaign bank account is the right one. We aren’t a bank, but we care about you! Check on the fees the bank is charging and give them a call to get a better deal.
Talk to Your Campaign or Party Leadership about Succession Planning. Many of you have been treasuring for a while, and the fear of succession planning probably delays important conversations about how to make a clean hand off when you’re thinking about hanging up your treasurer spurs.
Learn How to E-Sign Reports—It’s a Game Changer. Historically, you had to print off your cover sheet, wet ink sign it, and mail it or FedEx it by the due date. This was true even if you e-filed. It is still true that you must send in signed reports. And you can still do it the old fashioned way—just be sure to get the signed cover sheet in the mail by tomorrow.
Great News Though: This year you can use electronic signatures without going to the Post Office or the FedEx store. The State Board has changed its practice to allow e-signatures using Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free to download. Here’s a link to their instructions of how to do this. ElectaFile is glad to support this new feature that should make last minute trips to the Post Office a thing of the past. Between now and the 4Q Deadline in early January, learn how to do the e-signature. We can help you with that, but you can also learn it yourself.
If You’ve Been Fined, Ask for a Waiver. Don’t wait on asking for a waiver from the Board of Elections if you’ve been fined. These are usually freely granted, especially if it’s your first request. Don’t let the clock run out!
Schedule a Free Well Visit with Our Founder, Andrew Tripp. This newsletter exists to make it easier for you to be active in politics. That’s why ElectaFile itself was built. While we don’t do “hard sells,” please consider scheduling a free consultation about the relative health of your campaign committee with our founder, Andrew Tripp. The call will barely mention ElectaFile and will help you make a plan to solve any problems your committee faces. He loves helping folks, and we’d love to help you as our subscribers. We can also guarantee there’ll be some obscure North Carolina geographical and historical factoids woven in!
If you want a totally free gut check, email [email protected] and get it scheduled. We’ve got clear eyes and pure hearts on this, and we’d love to help you.
Good luck and let us know when we can help you. Check out our new keyless data entry feature today. ElectaFile.com
